On Sailing
“I am a citizen of the most beautiful nation on earth, a nation whose laws are harsh yet simple, a nation that never cheats, which is immense and without borders, where life is lived in the present. In this limitless nation, this nation of wind, light, and peace, there is no other ruler besides the sea.”
Bernard Moitessier

On Lifestyle
Growing up in a small beach town instilled my appreciation for a simple way of life. Hygge (hyoo-guh) can be thought of as the art of familiarity (either with yourself, friends or where you live). No English word fully embodies hygge, several can be used to describe the idea how I relate to it: contentedness, security, familiarity, comfort, frugality, kinship, and simplicity.

On Photography
Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”
— Aaron Siskind
